Friday marked 8 years since this little blog of mine (which I am letting shine) has been active and I’m low-key proud. When I started this blog I was an aspiring writer who was studying chemical engineering at university and now I’m working in marketing & communications in theatre and have word ‘writer’ on my CV. Mad.

This blog played a lead role in my career’s pivot and I’m incredibly grateful for this forgiving space where I’m allowed to write, unrestrained and try new things and share what I know in my own way. And I want to continue to do so.

October is my favourite month of the year. It signifies growth, evolution, reflection and celebration. This October I turn 30, my blog turned 8 and the country my life story has deep roots in, Nigeria, celebrated 60 years of independence on October 1. It is also Black History month in the UK but we all know we be celebrating Blackness every day of the year - imma still look out for dope BHM content though. And it’s Inktober which I am taking part of, kinda - yeah, I’m not following any prompts but rather simply drawing wildflowers everyday.

But what does this month mean, for WML? Well, let’s wait and see.
