ON THE EDGE: FILM || VOL. 6

It is that time of month where I share the list of soon-to-be released films that have me itching to camp out in the cinema. I must admit that I have not quite mastered the art of balancing work time and play time but I am aiming to see one of these films this week. It has been far too long since I sat in a dark theatre munching on popcorn whilst I watch a film. Okay, it has only been a week but still! Anyway, without further ado, here are the films released this month that I want to see.

JURASSIC WORLD

Who doesn't want to watch this? I mean the fact that Chris Pratt is back on the big screen should be reason enough really. Which reminds me, I have to get my hands on a copy of Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD really soon. It has been way too long since I last saw it. Anyway, if you have not heard about Jurassic Park before I... well, I just don't know what to say. Erm... it is a fantasy/thriller franchise (Jurassic World is the 4th film in the series) and you should expect dinosaurs... in modern day society. Yeah. Jurassic World is to be released on 11 Jun 2015 and you can watch the trailer here.

MR. HOLMES

Magneto aka Gandalf aka Sir Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes? Bring it on! My appreciation for the iconic detective really escalated when I finally saw BBC's Sherlock and Elementary last year. Both depictions of the character won me over and I made a note to see Ian McKellen as Mr. Holmes as soon as I heard about this project some time last year as we get to see Sherlock in a different era and stage in his life. I am worried that this may ruin the storyline of the TV shows for me but at the rate we're going BBC's Sherlock might return when he's 50 yrs old and I would have probably forgotten the ending of this film by then so no harm done. And as for Elementary, well I love Johnny Lee Miller's take on Sherlock and will want to know how he hangs up his hat regardless. Mr. Holmes is out on 19 Jun 2015 and you can watch the trailer here.

THE LONGEST RIDE

All I know about this film is that it is based a Nicholas Spark's book and Britt Robertson is in it & that's good enough for me as she is one actor whose work I have always enjoyed. The last thing I saw her in was The First Time and I freakin' love that movie; I have a feeling I won't regret seeing this one either. I mean come on, who doesn't enjoy a Nicholas Spark film even if it's just a little? The Longest Ride is out on 19 Jun 2015 and to find out even more here is the trailer.

And there we have it folks. I know this month's list is not as long as the others but I think we can all agree that my watch list is long enough as it is. I wonder if I will ever watch everything on it. Anyway, I would love to hear which films you have your eye on in the coming weeks.
