DISNEY: ALADDIN
'... Arabian niiiiiiights like Arabian daaaaaaaays
More often than not
Are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways ...'
Oh good ol'Aladdin is the Disney character that graced my screen with his presence this week.
Man, it has been a while since I've seen this particular film. I remember when I was a little tot, I had the Jasmine doll and a bunch of other Aladdin related toys that I want to say I got from Mc Donalds but I could be wrong. But it was the Jasmine Barbie-esque doll that I loved dearly. I vaguely remember brushing her hair and wearing my own Jasmine outfit.
I was clearly a big Disney fan.
Having a guy come to my room to whisk me away for a magical night on a magical carpet, singing to me a magical song sounds just about right to me. None of this Maserati, Lamborghini or Rolls Royce nonsense. Magical carpets are highly sustainable after all ;-)
'I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole neeeeeeew wooooooorld
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole neeeeeeew wooooooorld
A dazzling place I never kneeeeeew
But when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with yoooooou
Now I'm in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole neeeeew wooooorld
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath, it gets better
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back
To where I used to be
A whole neeeeeew wooooooorld
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole neeeeeew wooooooorld (x2)
That's where we'll be (x2)
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'
Aladdin is definitely a strong contender but I am beginning to wonder if I can truly have a 'Top Five Favourite Disney Movie' list talk less of an actual favourite. But we'll see. I am definitely having fun taking this fun and magical trip down memory lane.
On to the next one!
Till next time!
Luv, Mo
